Types of Funds
Permian Basin Area Foundation manages a variety of component funds designed to assist our donors in accomplishing a variety of charitable objectives.
Unrestricted Funds
Unrestricted Funds provide the Foundation the greatest flexibility to respond to the ever-changing community needs and grant requests from many nonprofit organizations.
Field of Interest Funds
Field of Interest Funds support areas of particular interest to the donor children, the arts, education, or needs of the elderly, for examples. The recipient nonprofit organizations of grants from these funds are selected by the Foundations Grants Committee or an advisory committee in accordance with the donors wishes.
Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds provide donors with the ongoing opportunity of recommending grants from the fund they establish, subject to approval by the Foundations Board of Governors and certain legal restrictions. They are an excellent alternative to a private foundation.
Designated Funds
Designated Funds are created by donors who wish to provide resources for one or more charitable organizations of their choice or to accomplish a specific purpose.
Permanent Agency Funds
Permanent Agency Funds are endowment funds created for the benefit of specific nonprofit organizations or to accomplish a specific purpose within those organizations.
Scholarship Funds
Scholarship Funds may be tailored to assist students with advanced educational opportunities or to support a specific educational institution of the donors choosing. More information about scholarships can be found in the Scholarship section.
