Frank Cowden, Jr., Memorial Scholarship Fund

June Cowden created this fund in memory of her husband, Frank, who died in 2006. Mr. Cowden dedicated his life to family, church, ranching, and community. In honor of his long-time devotion to the Buffalo Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, this fund provides higher education scholarships for young men of the Council who earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

For current high school seniors - To be considered your application must contain:

  • A one page essay focusing on how the rank of Eagle Scout will benefit you as you begin your college career.
  • Application (PDF format*)

For current college students - To be considered your application must contain:

  • A one page essay focusing on how the rank of Eagle Scout has benefited you in your college career.
  • Application (PDF format*)

 

*You'll need Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader to view and/or print the application form. The free Acrobat Reader software is available for download from Adobe's website.

Depending on the version of Acrobat software installed on your computer, you may be able to complete the application form online, in your browser window. You can test for this capability by clicking in the first blank and typing the requested information. If text appears in the blank, you can complete the form online. Use your Tab key to move to the next blank on the form. After you've completed the form, you may then print and mail it to the Foundation.

Don't worry if you can't complete the form online. Just print the blank form and fill it out by hand or with a typewriter. The method of completion will not affect the consideration given to your application.
