Scholarships: Katherine Rose Davis Memorial Scholarship
Former Midlanders Shane and Cheryl Davis created the Katherine Rose Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of their daughter's brief but inspiring life. Katherine's ten-day struggle against infection at birth gave motivation to the establishment of this fund to provide financial scholarships based on the following:
- Female graduate of a high school in Midland or Ector Counties, Texas; or Cheatham County, Tennessee.
- Pursue a career in medicine or healthcare.
To be considered your application must contain:
- A short essay on what you consider to me the most significant event that has happened in your life. This should not exceed one page typed.

Depending on the version of Acrobat software installed on your computer, you may be able to complete the application form online, in your browser window. You can test for this capability by clicking in the first blank and typing the requested information. If text appears in the blank, you can complete the form online. Use your Tab key to move to the next blank on the form. After you've completed the form, you may then print and mail it to the Foundation.
Don't worry if you can't complete the form online. Just print the blank form and fill it out by hand or with a typewriter. The method of completion will not affect the consideration given to your application.
