Midland, Texas (August 12, 2025) – Permian Basin Area Foundation is pleased to announce the distribution of $1.35 million in scholarship awards and educational program support for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This year, the Foundation celebrates more than 400 scholarship recipients from communities across West Texas. Additionally, 92 four-year scholarship recipients graduated during the 2024–2025 academic year, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.
Since its inception, PBAF has awarded more than $9.4 million in scholarships to students pursuing higher education. The Foundation remains committed to supporting students and honoring the legacies of generous donors throughout West Texas.
These scholarships help reduce the financial burden of higher education, empower students to succeed, and strengthen the long-term vitality of West Texas communities. About Permian Basin Area Foundation
Organized in 1989, Permian Basin Area Foundation’s mission is to facilitate the creation of permanent charitable funds in partnership with many donors and provide grants to address community needs and enrich the quality of life in the Permian Basin. It uses these resources wisely and efficiently to respond to emerging and changing needs and to sustain existing nonprofit organizations through grants. The Foundation provides a flexible vehicle for donors with varied philanthropic desires. In so doing, the Foundation serves as a steward for individuals, families, foundations, and organizations, which entrust assets to its care. The Foundation is for all citizens whether of modest or ample means.
