Midland, Texas (August 17, 2026) – Permian Basin Area Foundation (PBAF) is pleased to announce the distribution of $1.35 million in scholarship awards for the 2026-2027 academic year.
This year, the Foundation celebrates more than 500 scholarship recipients from communities across West Texas. Additionally, 68 four-year scholarship recipients graduated during the 2025-2026 academic year, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.
Since its inception, PBAF has awarded more than $10.7 million in scholarships to students pursuing higher education. “The Foundation remains committed to supporting students and honoring the legacies of generous donors throughout West Texas, and we welcome the opportunity to work with new donors who wish to support us in advancing this mission,” said Lyndzie Tarango, Education Programs Administrator at PBAF.

About Permian Basin Area Foundation
Organized in 1989, Permian Basin Area Foundation’s mission is to facilitate the creation of permanent charitable funds in partnership with many donors and provide grants to address community needs and enrich the quality of life in the Permian Basin.
