George Koehl Soli Deo Gloria Fund
A beloved member of our community was lost with the passing of George Koehl. “He was a man that was unlike any other man. He served, he loved, he laughed, he encouraged…and he gave,” his eldest son, George, said of him.
For 23 years, George was the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Midland. As a servant leader, he loved creating an environment of worship, supporting his children to pursue their dreams, and simply embracing life and all God gives.
To preserve Mr. Koehl’s legacy of giving to the community, the family chose to establish a scholarship fund at Permian Basin Area Foundation for the benefit of high school graduates who exhibit character and traits similar to the godly man for whom the fund is named.
Medical Center Health System Foundation
Children and health have been long-time concerns of the Foundation and its donors so a partnership with Medical Center Health System (MCHS) Foundation seemed very logical.
“Investing our funds with Permian Basin Area Foundation is a big move for the MCHS Foundation Board. We’re looking forward to utilizing the PBAF staff’s expertise to grow the funds of the MCHS Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network,” said Renee’ Earls, MCHS Foundation Board Chair.
“Donors trust that we will spend this money wisely. It was imperative that we find an investment tool to match the level of integrity and expectations that we have. PBAF was a perfect fit for us not only because of their years of experience and success, but also because of their reinvestment in the communities through local grants and support.”
Permian Basin Area Foundation facilitates the creation of permanent charitable funds in partnership with many donors and provides grants to address community needs and enrich the quality of life in the Permian Basin.
