Permian Basin Area Foundation Announces $1.8 million in Grant Awards

Midland, Texas (June 10, 2021) – Permian Basin Area Foundation has awarded $1,843,500 to nonprofit organizations serving West Texans during its spring grant cycle. The Foundation resumed its regular competitive grant cycles this year, after delaying last year’s spring cycle and focused on emergency funding due to the immediate needs presented by the pandemic.

“I am so proud of our nonprofit organizations who continue to step up and serve our community. We are hopeful and look forward to the day when we can gather together and celebrate these organizations and the wonderful work they are doing in our communities,” stated Grants Administrator Meagan Harris.

The competitive grants were awarded in early June. Grants were made to the following organizations:

As a part of those competitive grant awards, the Foundation awarded $320,000 to 10 organizations from the Dollie Ruth Neal Education Fund. The purpose of this fund is to provide education opportunities for women across West Texas, with an emphasis on empowering single mothers to become self-sufficient.
