Thank you for your interest in the Permian Basin Area Foundation scholarship program. Below is a list of questions that students, parents, and school personnel often ask about the online scholarship application process.

The scholarship process opens January 1 and closes April 1.

No, you will not be able to change or update your responses once you submit your application.

No, scholarships also take into account academic performance, college entrance testing, community and school involvement, the applicant’s response to the essay, and recommender’s evaluation responses. While many scholarships reference financial need, each criteria previously listed plays a role in the scholarship evaluation process.

Yes! While academic performance is important, many of our scholarships also value leadership, community service, and extracurricular involvement. If awarded a scholarship, you must maintain a minimum semester GPA of 2.5 to remain eligible.

  • Start early. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the application and gather all required documents.
  • Proofread. Carefully review your application and essay. It’s a good idea to ask someone else to look it over before you submit it.
  • Be detailed. The more complete and accurate your information, the better your chances. Take your time and pay attention to the details.

Applicants will be notified via email if they are selected to receive a scholarship award. Award and denial statuses will also be available in the scholarship portal by June.
